Interloper
As we set sail once more, I saw what the locals spoke of.
As the sun faded into the distant horizon, a scar crossed the skies
Not an ugly wound, but the mark of a tired world.
The night sky was dark, oh so dark,
Yet there lay, seemingly, all stars from all the heavens,
Gathered in that broad seam.
Soon came the twins.
Their gold and silver light illuminated the oncoming twilight,
And there I stood... no longer afraid.
For from that moment on, I knew truly:
That I was no longer home.
